ONLINE COURSES
Online courses are a good fit for folks who don’t need to fulfill OSHA requirements or are otherwise required to complete the hands-on portion of training (skills demonstration with manikins). They are also a great option for community members wanting to increase their knowledge and understanding of emergency situations.
FAQs
Health & Safety Institute (HSI) is a family of seven brands offering complete emergency care training, continuing education, safety training and chemical compliance solutions with one goal, Making the Workplace and Community Safer. That mission is supported by innovative technology, robust administrative systems and exceptional customer support – three areas that have driven our organization forward since 1977.
No, online training alone does not meet OSHA standards. See this OSHA Letter of Interpretation.
Your employer may accept our Certificate of Online Training in place of a Certification Card, especially if they want to ensure you have obtained factual emergency care knowledge from a recognized training organization. If your employer requires hands-on skills evaluation, online training alone will not meet that requirement. Employment policies and practices vary widely, and if you are unsure about acceptance, you may ask your employer to confirm.
You can schedule a Challenge Course and will earn a full, OSHA-Approved certification. The Challenge Course must be scheduled within 45 days of earning your online certificate.
